Dr. Alaa-Eldin M. Adris

Professor at the Graduate School of Management of Technology

Dr. Alaa has a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, an M.Sc. in Chemical and Gas Engineering, University of Salford, Salford - England and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

He is now the Vice President for Strategic Development & Innovation, Nile University. Over his 38 years of career in science, technology and innovation, he has been a link between the industry and academia sitting on different sides at different times. He has been on almost all the blocks in the STI value chain, including STI policy, strategy, research, development, demonstration, commercialization, deep-tech entrepreneurship, and licensing (both as licensor and licensee).

As an inventor of seven (7) US patents and a team leader for 3 successful process technology commercialization projects, he had the privilege of learning and teaching the rigorous approach to successful technology development and demonstration. He also had the experience of capital raising through VCs both in BC and Alberta for his patents start-up (MRT).

Later in his career, he focused on mentorship of inventors, enabling the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship and strategizing economic growth based on knowledge and home-grown know-how.
