Adjunct Associate Professor of Practice, STI Policy Research Hub

 

Nadia has a multidisciplinary background in photochemistry and photobiology, laser physics, spectroscopy, nanomedicine, cancer research, protein crystallography, STI policy planning and management and digital marketing. Research is her core business; she led a team of biomedical applications of nanotechnology and was the executive director of a nanotechnology R&D company, which allowed her to approach problems from multiple angles and develop creative solutions.

She has also worked in the discipline of STI policy planning and management since 2008, where she gained diversified experience in managing projects, leading studies and research, leading teams and programs, coordinating and communicating with different stakeholders, and conducting consultations. Her expertise also extends to collaborating with international organizations and participating in global conferences to share knowledge and best practices in the field of innovation.

At the governmental level, she worked for many funding agencies like ASRT, STDF, and ISF and provided consultation for STI and entrepreneurship programs and initiatives. Additionally, she has experience in developing and implementing policies related to STI, as well as evaluating the impact of these policies on economic growth and societal development. Her wide experience has enabled her to translate complex concepts into understandable terms, which will allow her to communicate important information to stakeholders and decision-makers effectively.

Working with government regulations and policies has equipped her with a strong understanding of the guiding rules and principles that underpin effective governance. Her duties included working with the team to identify and develop key STI policy areas, Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy planning and management, programs planning and coordination and project monitoring and evaluation.
