The course begins by introducing the concepts of Technology and Strategy and exploring the connection between them. It ensures that there is an understanding of what Technology Strategy is and why it is important for businesses. It focuses on the ways that companies create and sustain competitive advantage in high-technology industries. Then it explores S-curves in technology improvement and introduces the concept of discontinuous technologies and their impact on business strategy. It examines how technology is adopted and the characteristics of adopters. By the end of this course, students will be able to formulate a technological innovation strategy and understand the challenges of implementing it.
