Technology portfolio and Intellectual Property Management
This course aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage technology portfolios in different types of organizations. It includes an overview of the role of techniques used for technology assessment and describes different ways to evaluate the contribution of each technology to corporate competitiveness. The course explores the factors involved in establishing and governing different types of R&D collaborations. The course introduces the management of intellectual property through intellectual property rights. Exemplary topics include invention harvesting or extracting; invention records and disclosures; inventorship and ownership issues; laboratory notebook practice; patent searching; and the different aspects and managements of IP.
